Govori: Learn Slovenian (iPhone and Android app) · Effective date: 8 October 2026

This policy covers the Govori: Learn Slovenian app — vocabulary cards, coursebook texts and listen-and-repeat practice for Slovene from beginner to B1. It is published by WKEU INVEST, investicije in nepremičnine, d.o.o., Štihova ulica 13, 1000 Ljubljana, Slovenia ("we", "us"). Our exam-practice app Govori Izpit has its own policy at govoriapp.si/privacy.html.

The app does not require a Govori account and does not contain advertising or analytics SDKs. Some learning tools work locally; the online features described below send information to our service providers.

1. Progress and materials on your device

The app stores learning progress, settings, imported recordings and text you add on your device. On iPhone, progress and settings, including the trial start and a randomly generated app identifier, can also sync through your own Apple iCloud Key-Value Storage. Imported publisher recordings and recognized textbook text are stored in the app's local files; they are not part of that progress sync.

2. Microphone recordings

Listen-and-repeat practice lets you record and compare your voice with the example. These recordings are held temporarily in the app for playback. This practice feature does not send your microphone recordings to Govori or an AI provider. If you use Edit pronunciation to replace a card's audio with your own recording or audio file, it is saved on your device and is not uploaded.

3. Optional online features

Our application code does not create a server-side archive of your photos, recognized textbook text or practice answers. We use the providers’ standard service settings, without a special zero-retention agreement. Anthropic generally deletes API inputs and outputs within 30 days, subject to its published exceptions, including legal obligations and usage-policy enforcement. For standard real-time speech synthesis, Microsoft states that input text and generated audio are not stored in its logs. Anthropic prompt caching may also be used to process repeated practice context efficiently. See Anthropic's commercial data retention information and Microsoft's text-to-speech privacy information. Avoid uploading personal information that is not needed for language practice.

4. Purchases, trial and usage limits

Apple or Google handles payment; Govori does not receive your payment card details. On iOS, the app can send a signed Apple transaction to our backend to verify Govori Plus access. This includes technical transaction and product identifiers and subscription validity information, not your Apple password. On Android, the app sends its Google Play purchase token and product identifier to our backend, which asks Google Play to verify the purchase status and subscription validity. It does not send your Google password or payment card details.

Our Netlify-hosted service stores a randomly generated app identifier, trial start, and daily practice or service usage records to apply trial access and usage limits. For a verified purchase, practice allowance is associated with the Apple transaction identifier or a one-way hash derived from the Google Play purchase token and product identifier, so the allowance can be shared across devices using that purchase. These records remain separate from the local learning material. Network providers also handle technical request data needed to deliver and protect the service.

5. Retention, purpose and sharing

Local materials remain until you remove them or clear the relevant app data. Our current backend does not automatically expire trial, daily usage and pronunciation report records. They remain until removed through a verified deletion request or service maintenance. Reset progress does not delete these backend records. We delete content reports, from Netlify and from our mailbox, once the reported problem has been fixed, and no later than 12 months after submission. Infrastructure providers may separately retain operational logs according to their service settings and policies.

We use the data described above to provide the features you choose, verify purchases, apply service limits and correct reported content. We do not sell your data or use it for advertising. Service providers include Apple (purchases and iCloud), Google (Android purchases; Gmail for content report emails), Netlify (hosting, usage storage, pronunciation reports and content reports), Anthropic (recognition, translation and AI feedback), Microsoft Azure (speech synthesis).

6. Controls and requests

You can use the included offline material without using photo recognition or Situations. In Me → Reset progress, you can clear learning progress and choose whether to remove imported materials too. Resetting progress does not restart the trial or clear backend usage and purchase verification records. Progress changes can sync to your own iCloud account; deleting the app alone does not necessarily delete that iCloud copy.

For privacy questions or requests to access, correct or delete personal data handled by Govori, contact yangni0704@gmail.com. We may need information to locate and verify the relevant technical records; please never send your Apple or Google password. You may also contact the Slovenian Information Commissioner (IP-RS). Provider processing and your rights are subject to applicable data protection law.

7. Children

The app is made for adults learning Slovene and is not directed at children under 13.

8. Changes

Any change to this policy will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
