These terms govern your use of the Govori: Learn Slovenian app ("the App"). By using the App you agree to them. Our exam-practice app Govori Izpit has separate terms at govoriapp.si/pogoji.html; purchases in one app do not automatically unlock the other.
2. What the App is
The App is a self-study tool for Slovene from beginner to B1: vocabulary cards with pictures, audio and example sentences, coursebook texts recorded sentence by sentence, listen-and-repeat practice, and daily review. It is meant to be used alongside a language course or on your own. It is not an official exam provider, is not affiliated with any examination authority and does not guarantee any exam result. There is no account: your progress lives on your device (and, on iPhone, in your own iCloud).
3. Free and paid content
The first 14 days provide access to the learning features without starting a store subscription or charging a payment card. Situations allows up to 15 practice rounds per day. After the trial, Govori Plus unlocks new learning material and Situations. Previously learned cards remain available for review, and previously opened listening lessons remain available to replay.
On iOS, Govori Plus is offered as an annual auto-renewing subscription or a lifetime one-time purchase. Both include up to 15 online Situations practice rounds per day (the allowance resets at 00:00 UTC). The lifetime plan includes this ongoing daily allowance. New Govori materials are included during an active annual subscription and with lifetime access. Publisher books and other third-party source materials are obtained separately; they are not supplied by a Plus purchase. Plans and local prices are shown by the store before purchase.
Subscriptions are sold only through the App Store (Apple) and Google Play (Google). The store processes payment under its applicable terms; we do not receive your payment card details. A subscription bought in one store works on the devices signed in to that store account.
Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period until you cancel. The one-time purchase does not renew and is tied to your store account; use Restore purchases in the App on a new device.
4. Cancelling
You cancel where you bought the subscription — we cannot cancel it for you:
- App Store: on your iPhone, Settings → your name → Subscriptions, or apps.apple.com/account/subscriptions.
- Google Play: in the Play Store app, Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions.
Cancelling stops the next renewal; your access continues until the end of the period you have paid for.
5. Withdrawal and refunds (EU consumers)
For purchases processed through Apple or Google, use the relevant store’s withdrawal and refund procedure. Applicable consumer rights, including any withdrawal rights and conditions for digital content, are not limited by these terms. For App Store purchases, visit reportaproblem.apple.com; for Google Play purchases, use your Google Play order history. If you get nowhere with the store, write to us and we will support your request as far as we can.
6. Acceptable use
- Do not copy, extract, redistribute or resell the texts, translations, images or audio.
- Do not attempt to circumvent the subscription check.
- Do not use the App for anything unlawful.
7. Intellectual property and sources
Govori provides its own listening lessons, graded stories and prepared vocabulary exercises, as well as learning tools for selected publisher textbooks and readers. Publisher materials belong to their respective rights holders. Govori does not claim publisher endorsement or authorization. Local audio import and the ability to work with your own textbook do not transfer rights in that material. Obtain and use third-party materials in accordance with the terms that apply to them.
The app's software, design and Govori-created learning materials are protected by applicable intellectual property rights. A purchase permits personal use of the app for learning; it does not grant redistribution rights in Govori or publisher materials. Word-selection resources include the Referenčni seznam pogostih splošnih besed za slovenščino (Pollak, Arhar Holdt, Krek, Robnik-Šikonja, 2020, CLARIN.SI, CC BY 4.0, hdl.handle.net/11356/1346).
Text you import, and any results the App generates from it, are processed only at your request, saved locally and may be used for personal study in accordance with applicable rights. Online processing requires internet and is subject to daily service limits. No publisher translation packs are bundled or offered for download.
8. Availability and liability
AI-generated feedback, translations and speech can contain errors. These features support language practice and do not provide medical, legal or other professional advice.
We work to keep the App accurate and working, but it is provided as is. Content may contain mistakes; we may correct, add or remove content and change features. To the extent permitted by law we are not liable for indirect losses; nothing in these terms limits your statutory rights as a consumer.
9. Changes and law
We may update these terms; the current version is always at this address with its effective date. Slovenian law applies, without limiting mandatory consumer protections that apply to you.
